Is there life after PhD?

Absolutely!

Having a PhD does not confine you to a life in academia. Nor is a research position in industry the only other option. In fact, the skills gained in graduate school can be applied to many different career paths, and having a PhD often leads to specific opportunities.

With grant funding getting harder to come by, and competition for research positions increasing all the time, there are times when you might feel like you’ve hit a dead end. Or sometimes you find yourself questioning whether you are on the right career path, and want to explore other opportunities.

There are indeed many paths open to you after graduate school, so let LifeAfterPhD.com help you find and succeed in the career path that’s right for you!

Career Paths

I started this website during the transitional period when I left my life in academia and started a new life in entrepreneurship, heading a North America/China marketing & communications firm with a team of talented individuals. After a hard but fun three years, I am now in a science communication & administrative position at a research institute.

I know how difficult a decision it is to decide on a new career path after academia. I am happy to answer any questions you may have and offer advice based on my experiences.
